David I. Bernstein, M.D.

David Bernstein, MD, is Professor Emeritus of Medicine in the Division of Immunology and Allergy at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine where he is associate director of the Allergy Fellowship training program. Dr. Bernstein has authored or co-authored over 275 original publications.  He has been engaged in the practice of Allergy and Clinical Immunology for the past 40 years.  Major research interests include new therapies for asthma and allergic disorders, environmental causes of asthma, allergen immunotherapy and occupational asthma. He has served on the College Board of Regents and is former Chair of the American Board of Allergy and Immunology. Dr. Bernstein has directed the North American Immunotherapy Safety Surveillance Study since 2008. He has received the Distinguished Clinician Award from the American Academy of Allergy Asthma and Immunology, the Distinguished Fellow Award from the American College of Allergy Asthma and Immunology, and the Distinguished Alumni Award from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine.
